Even on a chilly, rainy day, the energy at Joslin Community Garden was bright! Gardeners—including several WRWC Nuevas Voces participants—gathered with Stewart Martin from Providence GardenWorks to install a brand-new compost system at the site.
This hands-on project gives Joslin gardeners a dedicated way to dispose of plant waste from their plots while also creating nutrient-rich compost to feed the soil. Stewart shared his knowledge with the group, guiding them through the installation and teaching composting best practices.
Big thanks to Stewart for braving the weather with us and helping turn food scraps into future harvests. This new system is a simple, powerful tool for sustainability—and a great example of what happens when neighbors come together for a greener community.
