We’re Hiring: Health Equity Zone Director for Central Providence Unidos
The Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council (WRWC) is excited to announce an opportunity to join our team as the Health Equity Zone (HEZ) Director of Central Providence Unidos (CPU).
As the new backbone organization for Central Providence Unidos, WRWC is working with residents and partners to rebuild CPU’s collaborative community and HEZ capacity and carry forward the Central Providence Roadmap, a comprehensive, community-built plan focused on creating greater economic and social opportunity across the nine neighborhoods within the 02908 and 02909 ZIP codes.
About the Position
The CPU HEZ Director will serve as the senior administrative and strategic lead for Central Providence Unidos. This position will work closely with neighborhood residents, community organizations, funders, local officials, policymakers, the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH), and partners throughout the HEZ network.
The Director will lead and support a small team, oversee grant development and management, coordinate strategy and shared measurement, and help move the Central Providence Roadmap from vision to implementation. This is an opportunity for an experienced leader to help strengthen a community-driven initiative centered on health equity, collective impact, systems change, and community power.
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for an experienced, compassionate, and collaborative nonprofit leader who is comfortable bringing people together around a shared vision. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with grant development and management, community empowerment, systems change, and collective impact, along with the organizational skills and flexibility needed to work across different issues, organizations, and communities.
An advanced degree or equivalent experience in a related field and five to ten years of relevant nonprofit funding experience are required. Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is preferred.
We enthusiastically encourage applicants with lived or professional experience in Central Providence and communities such as Olneyville, Manton, Hartford, and Silver Lake.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary for this full-time position is $65,000–$75,000, based on experience. WRWC offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, pension, paid vacation and sick time, and organization holidays.
