We couldn’t have asked for a better day—clear skies, crisp air, and a solid crew of 23 hikers, including six middle schoolers from the Igliozzi Rec Center. Neutaconkanut Park gave us a perfect backdrop to shake off the winter blues and dive into nature.

As we climbed, we chatted about how plants and animals tough it out in winter. Teams got competitive with our iNaturalist challenge, logging species and spotting signs of wildlife. The wintergreen foraging was a hit—everyone got a taste of fresh-brewed tea straight from the source.

At the summit, we soaked up the city views with cups of cocoa and wintergreen tea in hand. Before heading out, everyone grabbed some native seeds to take home—a little gift to keep the nature love going.

Huge thanks to everyone who came out! Whether you were hiking, learning, or just soaking in the scenery, you made it a great afternoon. See you on the next adventure!
