The WRWC was featured in the news last week!
On Friday, May 20, the WRWC welcomed Senator Jack Reed, Congressman Jim Langevin, Congressman David Cicilline, Deputy Administrator of EPA Janet McCabe, EPA Region 1 Administrator David Cash, Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management Director Terry Gray, and Tom Ardito from Restore America’s Estuaries and awesome Southeast New England Program Grant Manager to Riverside Park. Gathered to celebrate the United States Environmental Agency’s Southern New England Network, these guests enjoyed a walking tour led by WRWC Director of Projects Lisa Aurecchia, and then shared remarks in a press conference. We are grateful for Senator Reed’s leadership which brought SNEP into existence. Earlier this year, The U.S. EPA selected the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council as the fifth pilot watershed funded through SNEP, so we are excited to spread the successes we shared on Friday in Riverside Park.
