We are looking for local artists to help us bring the Woonasquatucket River Greenway and watershed to life through art. We are seeking proposals for the creation of an original 11 x 17 inch artistic map that creatively interprets the Woonasquatucket River Greenway, celebrating the landscapes, parks, public art, streets, landmarks, and the rich urban ecology that define this unique space. Rather than a technical map, this project invites artists to explore a visually compelling and imaginative representation of place, incorporating elements of local flora and fauna alongside community features and points of interest. The selected artist will work from a WRWC-provided base map and collaborate through a draft review process, with a first draft due March 13 and final artwork due March 31. The project budget is $850 – $1,000. Artists working in illustration, graphic design, and related visual practices are encouraged to apply.
