On Tuesday, December 10th, the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council (WRWC) held our Annual Holiday Party, and what a party it was! Friends, family, neighbors, volunteers, donors, community members, and our incredible staff and Board (including some former Board members!) came together to celebrate a fantastic year.
Delicious Eats & Sweet Treats
The food was nothing short of spectacular. Guests indulged in empanadas, gaggers, baked ziti, chicken wings, Gotham Greens salads, endless cookies, and some of the best ice cream in Providence. There was certainly something for everyone.
Music set the tone for the evening thanks to our friend and partner-in-fun DJ Thirsty, also known as David Allyn. He spun records that had everyone grooving all night.
A Huge Thanks to Our Hosts and Sponsors
This free community event wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our generous sponsors and potluck contributors. Special thanks to:
Celebrating Together
We were so grateful to be joined by so many wonderful community members and partners. Special thanks to our dedicated Board and Staff who worked tirelessly to make this event a success. Andrew deLisle created and crafted stunning centerpieces for each table (AND took these amazing photos), Gianna Lourenco provided the crowd-favorite Coquito beverage, and everyone who managed the food stations, raffle tickets, check-in, and coat check. Together, we made it an amazing night! A special shoutout to:
- Senator Jacob “Jake” Bissaillon, Senator Reed, Senator Whitehouse, Senator Frank A. Ciccone III.
- Providence Council Members Rachel Miller and Oscar Vargas (plus June Rose, of course!).
- Representatives from organizations like the Providence Office of Sustainability, the Parks Department, 15 Minute Field Trips, Garden Time, BETA Group, United Way, Washington Trust, Groden Center, Edge & End, and many more
Looking Back on 2024
As we reflected on the growth and successes of 2024, we were filled with gratitude for the people who make our work possible. This holiday party was a celebration of community, collaboration, and the incredible progress we’ve made together.
Here’s to 2025!
To everyone who joined us: thank you for making the night so special. Your support means the world to us, and we can’t wait to see what we’ll accomplish together in 2025. Cheers to another year of making the Woonasquatucket River Watershed a thriving, resilient, and connected community space!
