JOHNSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — 30 new trees will be planted May 10 at the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council Greenway in Johnston thanks to a partnership with Citizens Bank and Plant-It Food Company.
Three types of native trees will be planted at the event: Yellow Birch, White Pine and Mountain Laurel.
This will be a volunteer effort in collaboration with the Arbor Day Foundation.
The Plant-It Food Company will also be served at Johnston’s Citizens campus to provide plant based options through foodservice provider Eurest.
