🌟 About the Olneyville Resilience Hub
A resilience hub is more than just a community center—it’s a trusted, welcoming space where residents come together to build stronger, more connected neighborhoods. During everyday operations, the Hub provides community-driven programming, access to essential services, and resources for youth, adults, and families. During emergencies like extreme heat, cold, or flooding, the Hub shifts into action as a safe relief center for distributing water, food, and critical multilingual information.

This work is made possible by a strong partnership between the Olneyville Neighborhood Association, the WRWC, and the City of Providence—and we’re looking for a new Coordinator to help grow the impact.

šŸ™Œ Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a dynamic, bilingual Spanish-English speaker with a strong connection to frontline communities—especially folks from Olneyville, Manton, Hartford, Valley, or Silver Lake. Whether you’re a local leader, advocate, organizer, or community connector, this is your chance to make a lasting impact. Preference will be given to applicants with lived experience in urban neighborhoods and those who have worked or volunteered with the Olneyville Resilience Hub before.

The Ideal Candidate Is Someone Who Can:

  • Build relationships with residents, local organizations, and city departments

  • Lead community engagement and programming aligned with neighborhood priorities

  • Coordinate emergency response and disseminate multilingual information during disruptions

  • Communicate clearly, professionally, and compassionately both in person and online

  • Create a welcoming and organized environment for all who use the Hub

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading the Community Resilience Committee and centering resident voices

  • Coordinating services like youth programs, food distribution, and adult education

  • Maintaining communication channels including social media, WhatsApp, email, and in-person outreach

  • Supporting emergency preparedness and response efforts with city agencies

  • Ensuring the Hub is a safe, active, and inclusive space—day in and day out

Required Qualifications:

  • Fluent in both Spanish and English

  • Flexible availability, including some evenings and emergency response hours

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in community engagement, project management, and grassroots advocacy

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Familiarity with frontline neighborhoods and commitment to social equity

  • Comfort using email, spreadsheets, and social platforms professionally

  • High school diploma or higher education preferred

Training Requirements:
The Coordinator will receive training through FEMA’s Professional Development Series and additional emergency preparedness coursework within six months of hire.
