Twenty-five years ago, kids played in the dangerous rubble of Riverside Mills in this empty riverside lot in Providence. In collaboration with federal, state, city, corporate, and community partners, we transformed this space into Riverside Park, an active, vibrant green space in the heart of the city. Today, we ask you to help us maintain Riverside Park, along with 75+ acres of other park spaces and seven miles off-road multi-transit paths that link Providence and Johnston. And with your help, these paths and parks will expand, offering protection to the river while creating safe alternative transportation corridors for all Rhode Islanders.
The Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council (WRWC) creates positive environmental, social and economic change by revitalizing the Woonasquatucket River, its Greenway and its communities. Your support spurs revitalization along the Woonasquatucket River, one of only 14 American Heritage Rivers in the nation. You help build new healthy transit and recreation paths, create parks, and clean our water for future generations. With more than 25 years of restoration and redevelopment experience, our small staff is smart with funding, stretching every dollar to maximize impact. By giving to Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council, you invest in the future of Rhode Island.
