Join Us for Fall Tree and Shrub Planting Events Along the Woonasquatucket River Greenway
This October, the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council (WRWC) is inviting the community to dig in and help TREE-IFY the Woonasquatucket River Greenway. Our series of fall planting events will replace lost trees, add vital shrubs and bulbs, and strengthen the health of our urban forest. These efforts improve air quality, provide shade, support pollinators, and create better habitat for wildlife — and we need your help to make it happen.
“This is a great chance for neighbors to roll up their sleeves and make a visible impact in their community,” said Kuno Haimbodi, WRWC Ranger Tree Specialist. “Every tree and shrub we plant improves air quality, provides shade, and helps support local wildlife.”
Whether you are a resident, a family looking for a hands-on activity, or a corporate group seeking a volunteer opportunity, these planting days are for you. Tools and supplies are provided, and all ages are welcome.
