Growing Together at Donigian Park

On Friday, October 17, 2025, WRWC staff and community members came together at Donigian Park in Providence for an afternoon of fall planting. Together we planted about 800 crocus bulbs and 100 daffodil bulbs in and around the pollinator garden and along the Greenway.

Around 15 people joined the effort, including staff, Campeones, local youth, and a few community members. Even with a smaller turnout, the energy was high and everyone was excited to learn about the pollinator garden and how it helps local wildlife.

Bulbs were planted around raised beds, near the water barrel and garden signs, along the fence line, and across the Greenway. Snacks were provided with support from Bloom RI funds, and the WRWC team tabled with outreach materials to share information about our Nuestros Bosques (Our Forests) program.

Nuestros Bosques is helping us grow urban forests along the Woonasquatucket River Greenway. Through this program, WRWC and partners are planting trees, training local stewards, and creating shaded, healthy green spaces that support people and wildlife.

Thank you to everyone who came out to plant and care for Donigian Park.
