Our incredibly popular and FREE Community Paddle series returns to Riverside Park this summer for the 4th year in a row! The free canoe rides are offered weekly on Thursdays, starting July 11th through September 12th from 4 PM to 6 PM at Riverside Park, Aleppo St, Providence, RI 02909.

Never paddled? Perfect, this is the opportunity for you! We encourage everyone to experience the joy of paddling on the Woonasquatucket River. Our experienced guides offer 10-15 minute paddle tours, perfect for beginners. Every year hundreds of people learn the basics of paddling from an expert and for many it’s their first time on a canoe.

Our paddles can be a truly transformative experience that fosters a deep connection to the river for all participants… and perhaps, inspires passion and interest in environmental justice and stewardship! The series is accessible to all, with Spanish- and English-speaking staff and volunteers.

All skill levels are welcome, and children can join if accompanied by an adult.

We are so incredibly thankful for AARP Rhode Island for being our proud presenting sponsor. Their support keeps our boats afloat and paddles paddling.
