Overview

Join the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council (WRWC) for a peaceful, family-friendly celebration of the Winter Solstice at the Leo Bouchard Conservation Center! We’ll honor the changing season with guided hikes, warm drinks, snacks, hands-on crafting, and intentional reflection as we embrace the shortest day—and longest night—of the year.

Inspired by the ancient traditions of Yule, this gathering invites you to slow down, connect with nature, and welcome the light’s gradual return. Together, we’ll take a moment to appreciate our neighbors, our community, and the ways we support one another through every season.

A Note About This Year’s Holiday Gathering

If you’re wondering where your usual WRWC Holiday Party invitation is… this is it! Instead of our big annual blowout—we’re celebrating in a quieter, more nature-centered way this year.

We loved dancing, feasting, and raising a glass with you in years past, and we’re excited to share this new, cozy, reflective tradition with you. We hope you’ll join us for this softer, winter-welcoming moment with the the community.
