Join the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council for a free, hands-on workshop exploring sustainable gardening practices, integrated pest management, and the benefits of composting. This educational gathering at Joslin Community Garden will provide practical tips for creating healthier gardens while reducing waste and supporting the environment. Light refreshments and gardening tools will be provided.

Led by Charlotte Canner, the workshop will highlight the power of compost to fight climate change, regenerate soil, and build stronger communities. Charlotte is deeply involved in Rhode Island’s composting and waste diversion community, having worked with organizations including Harvest Cycle, Epic Renewal, and the Rhode Island School Recycling Project. She currently serves as the Recycling Coordinator for the towns of South Kingstown and Narragansett.

The event is open to all ages and accessible to both English and Spanish speakers. In the event of drizzle or rain, the workshop will still take place under tents, and attendees are encouraged to bring rain gear or umbrellas.

Pre-registration is encouraged. Guests who register online can skip filling out the waiver on the day of the event.
