🌿 Sprague Farm Naturalist Hike

Saturday, April 18, 2025 |  5:30–7:30 PM
Location: Sprague Farm Trailhead, Chepachet, RI

Join the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council for a guided naturalist hike through the scenic trails of Sprague Farm in Glocester. Co-led by Phil and Layla, this 2-hour trek invites curious hikers to explore nearly 1,200 acres of preserved forest, uncovering the hidden history and vibrant ecology of this beautiful landscape.

Ever wondered why Rhode Island is full of stone walls? Or how to spot a wild blueberry? On this moderately difficult hike, you’ll learn to interpret clues in the land, from glacial remnants to underground fungal networks. We’ll also use the iNaturalist app to track species in real time and contribute to community science.

What to Expect:

  • A 2-hour, moderately difficult hike on wooded trails

  • Nature facts, historical insights, and ecological storytelling

  • Springtime sights and sounds

  • A chance to contribute to citizen science with iNaturalist

📅 Final call on weather by Friday at noon — keep an eye on your email!
