Enjoy a lively night of music and dance at Donigian Park! Start with a free bachata and salsa dance class led by instructor Brandon Contreras, then keep moving with live music from Providence’s own Alebreke, led by Dominican musician Robertico Arias. Fun, family-friendly, and open to all—no dance experience needed!
The evening kicks off with a FREE 45-minute bachata and salsa dance class led by bilingual instructor Brandon Contreras, followed by open dance time for everyone to enjoy. Participants will move to the sounds of Alebreke, a Providence-based Latin music group led by Dominican musician, composer, and producer Robertico Arias. Founded in 2002, Alebreke has performed across New England, bringing audiences Latin Jazz, Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, Bachata, Vallenato, and more.
Bachata, a style of music and dance rooted in the Dominican Republic, is beloved for its romantic lyrics, guitar-driven melodies, and rhythmic hip movements. Salsa adds its energetic, infectious beat, creating the perfect atmosphere for a summer night of community and celebration.
This event is free and open to the public. No dance experience necessary—just bring your energy, friends, and love for music!
