Thousands of native pollinator plants now fill the landscape at Goldsmith Street, creating a living meadow that changes with every season. Join the Goldsmith Friends Group to watch it grow while building your own knowledge of native plants, pollinators, and ecological restoration.
Meeting once a month at the Fish Ladder in Johnston, this welcoming community group offers a chance to connect with neighbors, learn from WRWC staff, and experience firsthand how a restored landscape evolves over time.
Each gathering explores a different aspect of meadow stewardship and Greenway restoration. Learn how native plants support wildlife, discover why meadows require different care than traditional lawns, hear about upcoming Greenway projects, and gain practical skills you can bring home to your own yard or neighborhood.
We’ll spend part of each gathering exploring the site together and, when needed, helping care for the meadow so it continues to thrive. Whether you’re interested in gardening, local ecology, conservation, or simply spending time with people who care about the river, there’s a place for you here.
No experience is necessary. Come curious.
