About the Event

Each year, WRWC provides bicycle helmets to fifth-grade students across Rhode Island, helping them build the skills and confidence to ride safely.

We have 200 boxes of helmets to prepare, and we need your help! Volunteers will unbox helmets, attach visors, and apply WRWC logo stickers to get them ready for students.

Stay for the entire event or drop in for as much time as you can. Enjoy snacks, meet fellow volunteers, and help us get more kids safely on bikes!

Meeting Location: We’ll be working in the hallway at 50 Sims Avenue, near the entrance to the Lefty Loosey Bike Collective.

About Rhode to Bicycle Safety

Founded in 2019, Rhode to Bicycle Safety (R2BS) is a WRWC program in partnership with the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT).

Each year, R2BS reaches more than 1,000 fifth-grade students across Rhode Island, teaching essential bicycle safety skills through a 180-minute course combining classroom lessons and hands-on riding instruction.

Every student who completes the program receives a bicycle helmet and the knowledge and confidence to ride safely for transportation, exercise, and fun.
