EcoRI News has shared two upcoming WRWC events: our Woonasquatucket River Cleanup and Heritage Park Hike.
On Monday, January 15 at 10:00am, the WRWC invites members of the community to join us for our MLK National Day of Service cleanup! To honor Dr. King’s legacy of community, unity, and service in action, MLK Day is the only federally recognized National Day of Service, to inspire Americans to improve their own communities. To celebrate this holiday, we will be hosting a community cleanup along the River by Contech Medical and Route 6. This is a heavily littered section of the river, and with recent flooding in the city, more debris has been carried into the river. For more details and to register for this event, visit our event page here. You can also see the EcoRI News story here.
Our next event is scheduled for Saturday, January 20. This will be a four-mile loop hike along the Heritage Park Trail in Glocester. This event is a moderate hike and will take about two hours. For more information and to register, click here. You can also read about our event in EcoRI News here.
