Closing Out the 2025 AMPO Conference with a Woonasquatucket River Greenway Bike Tour

On Friday, September 19, we partnered with the Department of Administration’s Office of Statewide Planning to co-host a bike tour of the Woonasquatucket River Greenway, closing out the 2025 Association of Metropolitan Planning Organizations (AMPO) Annual Conference. The conference, held in Providence from September 15–19, brought together MPO professionals from across the country for sessions, presentations, and hands-on mobile tours.

Our post-conference tour gave 22 participants the chance to explore the Greenway from Providence Place to Johnston by e-bike, provided by Spin, and see firsthand how transportation, recreation, green and complete streets, and climate resilience intersect along this urban corridor.

It’s remarkable what a small nonprofit can accomplish when working in partnership with state agencies, cities, and towns! Special thanks to Paul Gonzalves and Asher Eskind from the Department of Administration for co-hosting and helping make the tour an engaging, informative conclusion to this year’s conference.
