The Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council joined with other organizations under the Rhode Island Paths to Progress Coalition to gather support from Rhode Island’s elected officials for increased bike paths around the state. The coalition has worked together over the past two weeks to get bike paths on the state’s radar. They also gathered support from over 40 elected officials in a letter sent to Governor McKee.

In his first State of the State Address, Governor McKee outlined several potential initiatives as part of his COVID-19 pandemic recovery plan for the state. In this plan, he noted an initiative that included bike paths – a big step for the Paths to Progress Coalition!
