WRWC Bikes to Washington DC for the 2026 National Bike Summit

This past week our Bicycle Education team along with colleagues from  the Rhode Island Bicycle Coalition, Bike Newport, and Providence Street Coalition traveled to Washington DC to attend the National Bike Summit organized by the League of American Bicyclists. They spent one day on Capitol Hill meeting with Rhode Island’s members of congress to advocate for federal legislation that supports a safe and accessible transportation system. While there, they shared stories about WRWC’s efforts to give children in RI opportunities to become safe and confident cyclists. Our bike education team is excited to continue their work this spring with renewed enthusiasm, bolstered by the support and expertise shared by the community of cycling educators and advocates brought together by the summit.
