Using the Greenway
Parks in all municipalities within the Woonasquatucket River Watershed as well as state parks throughout Rhode Island are now open. While nature, fresh air, and sunshine can be tremendously helpful during trying times, we strongly encourage you to practice social distancing to slow the spread of COVID-19. Do not congregate in groups bigger than what the Rhode Island Department of Health deems safe. Currently, that number is 15. Please visit Rhode Island’s Phase II guidelines for parks for more detail.

Children should not use playground equipment, share balls or sports equipment, or play together in public spaces. This virus can live for days on plastic and metal surfaces. If you are outdoors and there are large crowds that make it impossible to maintain a safe social distance of at least six feet, turn around and come back another time. And please remember to use a fabric face covering when outdoors. We know this is difficult, especially if you have little ones cooped up at home. We can’t wait until this crisis passes and we can all enjoy all of the Greenway together again.

Please consult the Rhode Island Department of Health website for the most current guidance related to preventing the spread of COVID-19: https://health.ri.gov/diseases/ncov2019/.

Clean Days on the Greenway
The Clean Days on the Greenway kick-off events scheduled for April 22 and April 25 have been postponed. This is in compliance with guidance from the state of Rhode Island. We plan to reschedule Clean Days on the Greenway when it is safe to do so. We will be in touch with all groups and individuals that have already registered about when it is safe to reschedule.

Red Shed Summer Bike Camps
At this point, we welcome sign ups for our Red Shed Summer Bike Camp for kids ages 8-13.Please visit the Bike Camp page for additional details about camp dates, safety protocols, and more.

Best wishes for peace, safety, and good health,

The WRWC Team
