This January, we teamed up with 15 Minute Field Trips to host two awesome “Curious About Coyotes” events, giving folks a chance to learn more about these fascinating animals and how to live alongside them safely.

The first event on Wednesday, January 22, at the Olneyville Resilience Hub in Providence was a hit! Families and community members of all ages joined us for an interactive evening full of hands-on activities, lively discussions, and a touch table featuring furs and skulls from different wild canines. Plus, the workshop was offered in both English and Spanish, making it even more accessible. Everyone walked away with some great tips on coexisting with coyotes and keeping their pets and homes safe.

Then, on Saturday, January 25, we braved the cold for a guided winter walk at the Fish Ladder on Goldsmith Street in Johnston. Bundled up against the crisp morning air, we explored nature together, learning about coyote behavior and tracking signs of wildlife in the snow. It was a fantastic way to experience the outdoors and gain a deeper appreciation for these smart, adaptable creatures.

Both workshops were free and drew in over 20 participants who left feeling more confident and informed about the wildlife in their neighborhoods.

A huge thank youto our partners at 15 Minute Field Trips for making this possible! Their passion for connecting people with nature through art and action is truly inspiring, and we love working with them.
