On August 1st, we came together in the heart of the summer at Buttonwoods Brewery for a celebration like no other, and what a night it was! Over 150 supporters gathered to join us in our mission, and thanks to your incredible generosity, we raised a remarkable $18,286 towards our Fish Fun(d) goal!
A Big Thank You to Our Community
We’re filled with gratitude for everyone who made this evening unforgettable. First, a huge shoutout to our amazing MC, David “DISCO” Morales, who kept the energy high and the crowd engaged. DJ Thirsty set the perfect soundtrack for the night, keeping everyone on their feet with electrifying beats.
We also want to extend our thanks to the pre-party bike ride participants. Your energy and camaraderie set the tone for an evening full of fun and connection.
And what’s a party without great food and drinks? Screaming Unicorn provided mouthwatering appetizers, and Buttonwoods Brewery kept everyone refreshed with their delicious brews. Both were instrumental in making the evening even more enjoyable.
The creativity on display during our River-Inspired Costume Contest was truly inspiring. We were thrilled to see so many participants embracing the theme, and our winners took home some fantastic prizes. Thank you to everyone who joined in the fun!
Your Impact: Funding Essential Programs
Your presence and support are making a real difference. The funds raised are going directly towards essential programs like environmental and bicycle education, climate resilience, and trash removal. We couldn’t do it without you!
Our Work Continues: Help Us Reach Our Fundraising Goals
While the event was a huge success, our work is far from over. We still need your support to hit our fundraising targets for each of our programs. Every donation counts and will help bring joy, learning, and new skills to even more people in our community.
Rangers Program
Together, we’ve raised $1,941 out of our $11,200 goal. Thanks to your generosity, our River Ranger team will soon have new boots! Now, we’re focusing on raising $10,459 to fund picnic tables for Riverside Park and other Woonasquatucket Greenway locations. We’re thrilled to partner with Edge & End woodworking, who will craft 10 unique fish-shaped tables from non-native trees in the Greenway. Edge & End is offering these tables at a 50% discount—thank you, Edge & End!
Community Programs
We’ve raised $1,765 out of our $8,000 goal. We’re looking for donors to help us raise the remaining $6,235 needed to fund stipends for participants in our Nuevas Voces program and fun activities like field trips, bingo nights, film screenings, and the upcoming Olneyville Resilience Hub block party. Your support will make a huge difference in the lives of our community members.
Environmental Education Program
Together, we’ve raised $1,839 out of our $10,000 goal. Your donations totaling $8,161 will help us reach the rest of this critical goal, allowing us to bring the “Birds of a Feather: Mindfulness Together” in-school program to two additional 3rd and 4th-grade classrooms within the Woonasquatucket River watershed.
Red Shed Bicycle Programs
We’ve raised $6,791 out of our $8,400 goal. Help us raise an additional $1,609 to fund Summer Bike Camp scholarships for 28 young people. Your donations will ensure that more kids have the opportunity to experience the joy and empowerment of cycling.
Recreation Program
Together, we’ve raised $1,756 out of our $5,000 goal. Be part of the group that contributes $3,244 to support our free weekly summer community paddles in Riverside Park. Your generosity will bring joy to Olneyville residents as they discover the beauty of the Woonasquatucket River.
Thank you once again for your support. Let’s continue to work together to reach our goals and make a lasting impact on our community!
