Operating just below the Hot Club in Providence is a small but powerful unit removing trash directly from the Providence River. The Hot Club Marina Trash Skimmer has been operating since April of 2019, and has been removing thousands of pounds of trash since. The unit chips away at the issue of pollution in our waterways, but is also a tool for education and outreach to help change the behavior driving pollution.

The Possibly Podcast took a few minutes to sit down with the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council, the educational partners on the unit, to take a closer look on how a skimmer works.
