Fish Ladder Bike Tour on May 29, 2021
Ever wonder why fish need ladders? Join us on an easy bike ride along the Woonasquatucket River Greenway bike path and see for yourself! Guided by WRWC Executive Director Alicia Lehrer and the Recreation Program leaders, you’ll discover the beauty, importance and success of the WRWC’s fish passage projects. And, you’ll probably see some native herring on their way up to their spawning grounds. The ride will start at Farm Fresh RI: 10 Sims Ave unit 103, Providence, RI 02909.
We’ll follow the bike path for an easy round trip 5.5 mile ride, on and off road, stopping along the way at various fish passage ways and learning how they work. Riders should be prepared to do some on-road biking and wear a mask and a helmet.
