The WRWC, in collaboration with the Smithfield Conservation Commission and Historic Cemeteries Group, will be conducting another cleanup at 5 Waterview Drive in Smithfield–the future home of the WRWC’s new Environmental Education Center. The cleanup will take place on Saturday, December 10th, from 10am to 2pm, and will also feature an open house for the new building. A previous cleanup took place back in August, and this upcoming event will be to finish building preparation.

The cleanup includes washing walls, painting, vacuuming and some trail cleanup, as well as installing picnic tables to make room for outdoor classroom activities.

The building will continue to be shared with the Smithfield Conservation Commission and Historic Cemeteries Group. Plans are in place next spring for educational trips to the center for the three elementary schools in Smithfield to teach students about the Watershed and the environment.
